Food and drug administration of US in 2004 issued a health claim for nuts and nutcontaining products due to scientific proved connection between nut consumption and decrease in heart diseases (Food & Administration, 2003).
Nuts currently become a part of many dietary guidelines due to health benefit and food values of them (Haddad, Sabaté, & Whitten, 1999). Finding by Sabate (1993), indicates vegetarians and health conscious people usually consume nut more than their counterparts. Countries which follow Mediterranean diet usually consume nuts two times more than those who follow American diet (Sabaté, 1993). Nuts usually eat at different forms as raw, salted, roasted and buttered. Nuts also provide a big portion of necessary source of protein and other nutrients for vegetarian.
In western omnivorous diet, they used nuts mostly as snack or ingredients to savory and sweet dishes. In modern age still nuts keep their position with a wide range of usage. Moreover, there is many historical evidence which confirm nuts used as medicine to treat or prevent diseases in past civilizations (Salas-Salvadó et al., 2011). Except food value in many cultures during history nuts also have had symbolism role (Salas-Salvadó, CasasAgustench, & Salas-Huetos, 2011).
